James King is the Head of Private Client / Partner of Price Bailey, Chartered Accountants
James joined the industry approximately 20 years ago as a sales support administrator for Friends Provident. After 4 years he decided to leave Friends Provident to become a trainee adviser at a firm of Chartered Accountants Macintyre Hudson (Moorgate House was the name of the firm of IFAs). There James dealt with his own portfolio of clients located in Bedford and Cambridge.
In 1998 James left to set up the financial services arm of Price Bailey. At the time of joining the firm had no structures, no clients and no financial services staff in place. The business grew and in 2002 PB Financial planning was set up as a directly authorised entity by the FSA. James became a shareholder in the business and its managing director. During the period of 5 years the business grew substantially through existing clients and an IFA practice acquisition.
In 2007 James sold his shares in PB Financial Planning back to Price Bailey and became an Equity Partner of the practice and the Head of its new at the time Private client department.
James is a very keen sportsman and is married with two children. He lives just outside Bedford though works predominantly between Cambridge and London.
